Meridian of Illinois Announces Provider Relations Team Reorganization

Date: 09/14/21

Meridian of Illinois and its parent company, Centene Corporation, provide access to high quality healthcare, innovative programs, and a wide range of health solutions that help families and individuals get well and stay well. Our purpose is transforming the health of the community one person at time.

Strong provider relationships are critical to our success in managing total cost of care and the quality of care our members receive. Our Provider Network Support Specialists are the liaisons who develop and maintain that relationship, educate, and resolve any operational issues the provider community may encounter.

To optimize our engagement with providers and to provide overall network performance, we are committed to improving communication, education, and operational efficiencies. We needed to rethink how we engage with our providers, develop a framework focusing on performance management, and deploy an accountable multidisciplinary infrastructure to optimize overall network performance through alignment, transparency, and insight. Through this process, we have identified opportunities, such as establishing regional teams to support our providers and ensuring regular meeting cadence, decreasing turnaround time of inquiries, and increasing provider satisfaction. We are excited to share a new organizational structure.

Effective September 7, 2021, our Provider Relations team has territory assignments by region.

Below is the high-level regional structure:

  • Tasha Brown, Director – Region 1, Statewide FQHC and LTC
  • Amanda Williams, Director – Regions 2/3
  • Arlene Scott, Director – Regions 4/5, Statewide Behavioral Health and Ancillary

Please find a regional map here: ilmeridian.com/providers/become-a-provider/service-area.html

Lastly, providers will have access to centralized regional email mailboxes to submit issues. The mailboxes will be managed by a dedicated Provider Relations team by region. Those teams will monitor inquiries throughout the day. This process will allow Centene to support the needs of our providers more efficiently.

Please use the email addresses listed below for inquiries instead of directly emailing your assigned Provider Network Support Specialist.

Moving forward, inquiries sent to formerly assigned Provider Network Support Specialists will be routed to the shared mailbox for the applicable state region or provider specialty type. The Provider Relations team will respond to your inquiry within 2 to 3 business days.

Your assigned provider relations representative will be contacting you soon to inform you of your region and mailbox. We will share with associations to cascade to its’ members.

We look forward to partnering with all of you to ensure a satisfying member and provider experience.
